In January 2010 we introduced a new version of a chipper, which is part of our series of disc models, and shreds tree limbs with diameter of up to 25cm.
The first and oldest machine of this series was Skorpion 250 R driven from PTO shaft. In 2009 we made its new version – Skorpion 250/R90, which could take raw material at the angle of 90° in relation to tractor. It also allowed to hook a trailer behind the chipper and to load chips on it directly from the machine.
The next step was the introduction of SKORPION 250/RG90 version at the beginning of 2010. This last model is adapted to the most demanding requirements and specialized customers (involved mainly in work in the woods). Based on the previous version, it keeps its solutions, that is the lateral position of the inlet choke and possibility of hooking a trailer behind the chipper, but it is now also adapted to work with Hydraulic Mounted Crane.
Due to specific conditions of feeding long and thick (to 25 cm) tree limbs and logs, loaded by hydraulic mounted crane, the charging hopper has been modified by shortening its upper part and installing a crawler in its bottom part; the crawler is supposed to pull thrown branches into the feeder’s rollers.
For earlier versions, two or three people had to be involved in loading thick logs, while using hydraulic mounted crane, loading becomes a one-man operation. Less number of people to operate the chipper is very important as greater cost of purchase of this model is thus neutralized by lower labor costs. What matters is also greater efficiency, yet more comfortable and less tiring work.
This model is set on single-axle chassis, adapted to be towed along forest and field roads.
